Lighting design must consider light source intensity, and the luminous flux of the lighting object.

The intensity of light source measurement unit is Lumen (Lumen). Intensity of illumination of the measuring unit is Lux. The relationship between the two is 1 Lux = 1 Lumen/m2

Suppose we have a 10 w led lamp, who is the total luminous flux of 600 Lumens. If this 600 Lumens are all concentrated in one square metre of the desktop, the desktop illumination is 600 Lux.

 (1)   In commercial lighting, bright food, especially bread, Hamburg, seafood, BBQ, etc can stimulate appetite. So bread cake shop, hamburger fast food restaurant, the restaurant window to have more than 1000 Lux illumination. Jewelry, watches and clocks, clothing store, also must want to have bright illumination, in order to stimulate the desire to buy. Precision industry, color printing, museums, galleries, optical shop, 3 c stores, bookstores, typing, charting, surgery should have 1000 Lux intensity of illumination.

 (2)   general lighting, office, classroom, stores, general stores, coffee shops, fast food restaurants, factory, production line, is to have 300-800 Lux.

(3)   the non-working occasions, such as railway stations, airports, hospitals, building, hall, room, hallways, stairwells, toilet, 100-100 Lux. Parks, parking lots, and streets can be as low as 10-50 Lux.

(4)   the operating time, commercial lighting, general lighting in the operating period of time, you can drop to 100-300 Lux.

(5)   In decorative lighting, like chandeliers where LED Candle light used, the lux is not required so high. So normally 3W 200lm LED Candle lamp is enough for the Chandelier fixture.

Appropriate lighting definitely has a significant impact  on  the competitiveness of the stores. In Convenience stores, department stores, they focus on the first floor shop, including cosmetics, jewelry, intensity of illumination are more than 2000 lux. If Lighting intensity  is not enough, it will not attract the attention and desire. If  lighting is excessively insufficient, it even can increase clients’ fatigue and sleepiness.
