As long ago as in December, 2008, Ministry of Science and Technology proposed a nationwide “Ten Cities, Ten Thousand” LED lighting demonstration project in Beijing to choose to popularize ten thousand LED lights in ten cities and announced to subsidize 30-50% LED investment compared to traditional lighting. The vigorous support from government further certified the subsidy range is not merely in the purchase of street lamp but also the chip production machine from upstream.
Professionals said government will subsidize 300-400 yuan for one MOVCD machine. Under the driving of profits, many enterprises start to enter LED industry. In the fact, to some enterprises, the confidence towards LED lighting is not its energy conservation and quality but on the actual interests. Among them, there are a lot of enterprises lacking of relevant technology, talents and marketing channel although they have a good relationship with the government. There is a faultage between the power interaction from the government and the weak strength of the enterprises.
In the middle of last year, People’s Government of Guangdong Province issued The Notification of the Implement of Guangdong Province to Popularize LED Lighting Products, informing to compulsorily extend of use of LED lighting for public lighting within 3 years. The notification made a big splash. Our country has strict rules on contrast, uniformity and glare rating over the design standard of city road lighting. But the scientific and technological content of domestic LED lighting products can’t meet the requirement at all. We can imagine the consequences if the government compulsorily extend the LED products.
