led lighting manufacturer

To prepare and work jointly to avoid patent dispute

At present, the core patent technologies of LED lighting are occupied by the five international giants of Philips, OSRAM, Nichia Chemical, Toyoda Gosei and GREE. These five manufacturers almost applied many patents of the whole industrial chain containing raw material, automatic soldering machine, encapsulation and application. They put great pressure on domestic LED manufacturers on patents by monopoly through cross licensing. Once the fuse is lit, there will be a war of patent.

More and more enterprises have been aware of the importance of patent at the same time the LED industry is growing dramatically in our country. They actively seek opportunities to cooperate with the large international manufacturers to avoid patent dispute by means of signing patent cooperation agreement.

In 2012, Shangcanyuan Photoelectric, the first-grade chip factory in Taiwan announced to have cross licensing with Toyota Gosei and this also greatly benefited three domestic LED enterprises taking stake in Shangcanyuan Photoelectric. The companies were expected to solve the problems on patent facing up to domestic enterprises at present and move obstacles for oversea development.

In recent years, Static Electricity also changed its allocation on patent. Three years ago, the layout of Static Electricity on patent was negatively avoiding invading others’ patent. But recently, by independently developing core patent technologies like ACLED, HVLED, Static Electricity gained the opportunity of cross licensing with the international giants and at the same time made the patent portfolio more complete. It is known that Static has conducted cross licensing with Japanese Toyoda Gosei.
